Connection. Insight. Results.

Prioritizing well-being is a lifelong gift that you can give to yourself, your child, or to your relationships.  At our practice, we are dedicated to promoting emotional health and insight building across the lifespan.

Cognative Behavioral Therapy (CBT)

CBT is an evidence-based therapeutic intervention that is indicated in the treatment of anxiety, depression, and other emotional and behavioral disorders.  It is based on the premise that your thoughts, feelings, and physical sensations (behaviors) are all interconnected, and that negative patterns of thinking can get you “stuck” in unhelpful cycles of thinking and living.  CBT aims to help you manage problems in a more positive way through processing thoughts, intensive skill building, and real-world practice.

Child-Parent Relational Therapy (CPRT)

CPRT is an evidence-based, play therapy-based treatment program for young children presenting with behavioral, emotional, social, and attachment disorders. CPRT is a systemic protocol rooted in Child-Centered Play Therapy (CCPT) theory, attachment principles, and interpersonal neurobiology.  CPRT is based on the foundation that a secure parent-child relationship is the necessary factor for achieving a child’s well-being. In a compassionate and supportive environment, parents learn skills to respond more effectively to their child’s emotional and behavioral needs. In turn, children learn that they can count on their parents to reliably and consistently meet their needs for love, acceptance, safety, and security.  In CPRT, parents are taught specific skills grounded in the principles and procedures of CCPT that focus on establishing or enhancing a secure attachment with their child and helping parents attune to and respond to their child’s underlying needs rather than focus on symptoms. Parents learn to limit their children’s problem behavior while demonstrating empathy and respect for their children.

Parent-Management Training (PMT)

PMT is an evidence-based program for children with moderate to severe behavioral difficulties. PMT is designed to be a short-term treatment program which involves parents and caregivers engaging in weekly therapy sessions with a psychologist. During these sessions, you will be trained to more effectively deal with your child’s negative behaviors so that they decrease significantly.  More importantly, you will learn how to increase positive behavior in your child, as well.
